PROCESS OF CREATION

It was one of my favourite pieces from Riccardo Tisci SS19 Burberry collection and I’ve decided to follow the inspiration behind his idea and create a series of pictures inspired by the nature of the sea.

With a heritage that spans over a century, the trench coat has become more than just an article of clothing; it is a symbol of eternal elegance, resilience, and a tribute to quintessential British fashion.

The iconic Burberry Trench Coat, saw an exciting transformation under Tisci’s innovative vision. This is the story of how a classic was reborn.

INSPIRATION

The Burberry Trench Coat, with its dramatic design, invites us to explore a world where fashion and nature intertwine. It tells a story of resilience, innovation, and reverence for the ocean’s enduring beauty, all while preserving the classic appeal that has made it an icon of style for generations.

Riccardo Tisci introduced contemporary elements that injected fresh life into the trench coat. It was all about the small innovations: oversized lapels, asymmetric cuts, and new interpretations of the belt. The trench coat, once considered conservative, now oozed modernity.

I instantly pictured myself on the windswept cliffs of UK seaside, where the sea’s deep blues meet rugged landscapes. This coastal serenity inspired me to reimagine the Trench Coat, reminding us that nature itself can be the greatest muse.

I imagined flowing capes that billow like ocean waves or asymmetric hems reminiscent of seashells. These avant-garde variations infuse an element of drama and mystery into the overall picture.
